Position: SUPERVISOR (There are 4 positions available)
Department: CLINICAL LABORATORY
Shift & Days: Varies, Full-time (75 hrs biweekly) NON UNION
Job Description Summary:
 
  • The Supervisor performs professional duties under the direction of the Director of Clinical Laboratory Services.  They bring together their supervisory skills and knowledge of safety and lab procedures to ensure the lab operates smoothly.  Their duties include scheduling staff, reordering supplies and maintaining security standards.

Requirements/ Experience:
 
  • At least six years progressive experience in one or more areas of the laboratory is required. Must be experienced in writing procedure manuals,  proficiency testing protocols, instrumentation and manual procedures. Requires a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and statues.


Education:
 
  • BS in Medical Technology is required

    NYC  Supervisory  License in Chemistry.NYS Dept. Of Education License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist legally required.

    Medical Technologist /Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.

Position: ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR
Department: CLINICAL LABORATORY

Shift & Days: Full-time (75 hrs biweekly) NON UNION
Job Description Summary:

 
  • Supervises and Directs the activities of the Pathology and Clinical Laboratories in accordance with the accepted national standards and administrative policies of the hospital.  Partners with Director of Pathology and Laboratories and Reports to the Chief Operating Officer to ensure an efficient laboratory operation with high standards of quality and cost effectiveness

Requirements/ Experience:
 
  • IT skills (to review and modify LIS test, calculations, reference and critical ranges, billing and revenue codes as needed). Microsoft Office experience especially with spreadsheets, documents and databases.

    5-10 years supervisory and management experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

     Experience and Knowledge with Meditech  LIS.


Education:
 
  • BS/BA in Lab Related-area  (Medical Technology (ASCP) is preferred)

    Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist New York State Department of Education is required.

Position: LAB INFORMATION SYSTEM COORDINATOR
Department: PATHOLOGY/ CLINICAL LABS

Shift & Days: Full-time (75 hrs biweekly) NON UNION
Job Description Summary:

 
  • Supervises use of Meditech computer equipment by all Laboratory personnel, Establishes policies and procedures relative to Meditech computer system; Ensures department is in compliance with the standards established by Medical and Administrative Directors and various regulatory agencies; Develops and implements policy and procedures as required in keeping with current technologies and trends under the guidance of the Medical and Administrative Directors; Maintains and updates policy and procedure manuals as required; Investigates and resolves problems relating to the Meditech System; Confers with Laboratory Directors regarding department function. This includes technical and personnel issues; Identifies and alerts Laboratory/ Pathology Chairman and Administrative Director of any factors or problems which may impact on patient care billing or patient length of stay.

Requirements/ Experience:
 
  • Preferred: MT (ASCP) or Equivalent and Experience with Meditech L.I.S. for at least 3 years experience on version 5.62 or higher.


Education:
 
  • Required: B.S. in Medical Technology with at least 6 years experience.
