About Us
St. John’s
Episcopal Hospital is the only full service community
hospital serving the entire Rockaway and the Five Towns
communities providing general adult medical surgical
services, pediatrics, obstetrics and psychiatric services.
The Hospital’s overarching goal has been to combine
accessible, medical excellence with the compassionate,
caring environment expected from a faith-based community
hospital.
The largest hospital on the Rockaway peninsula, it
is dedicated to providing post-graduate allopathic and
osteopathic medical education as well as clinical pastoral
education. It is committed to serving the medically underserved
and providing care with ethnic, cultural and religious
sensitivities.
St. John’s is the cornerstone of Episcopal Health
Services Inc.
Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Episcopal Health Services Inc. of
the Diocese of Long Island is to provide quality health
care with an emphasis on patient safety through its hospital,
ambulatory care facilities, nursing homes and continuing
medical education, recognizing the emerging life-care
needs of the communities served.
The mission shall be overseen by the Bishop of Long
Island and guided by the teachings and traditions of
the Episcopal Church. An essential element of this ministry
is pastoral care provided by a chaplaincy program sensitive
to the faiths and traditions of those served.
