OCTOBER 18, 2005 (Far Rockaway, NY) - - - St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, South Shore, has appointed Glenn Hirsch to the position of Chief Operating Officer. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Hirsch is responsible for the administration of numerous hospital departments, including facilities management and construction, environmental services, admitting and others.

Mr. Hirsch was a co-principal and founder with his wife of a home-based rehabilitation agency for children, called Children’s Speech and Rehabilitation Therapists, in Muttontown, NY. He also was the principal of Hirsch Consulting for strategic planning and business development. Mr. Hirsch served as Vice President for the North Shore/Long Island Jewish System from 1998 to 2001 and as Vice President and Site Chief Executive Officer for North Shore/LIJ Hospital at Plainview from 1994 to 1998. He has worked for numerous hospitals including Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham, MA, and Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

He holds an master’s degree in business administration from Wagner College and a bachelor’s degree, also in business administration, from Hofstra University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association.
