SEPTEMBER 26, 2006 (Far Rockaway, NY) - - - Luis A. Hernandez, Chief Executive Officer at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, has named Dorette Norris as the Vice President for Human Resources. She will be responsible for the Hospital’s Human Resources functions. Of her goals at St. John’s, Ms. Norris said, “I want to develop this Hospital into a great place for employees and to develop a work force that supports the mission of St. John’s.”

Previously Ms. Norris was Director of Employee and Labor Relations at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. While there, she headed human resources compliance efforts with Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations regulations, addressed labor relations issues, and negotiated contracts, among other activities. She has more than 19 years of successful experience in single and multi-facility healthcare organizations. One of her many strengths is labor and employee relations.
