Hundreds attended the annual Senior Fair held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at 131 Beach 19th Street, Far Rockaway, sponsored by the Jewish Association for Services for the Aged (JASA) and St. John’s Episcopal Hospital. Many received free information and health screenings for depression, high blood pressure, physical therapy, and skin cancer. Fair participants included: Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer; Beth Abraham Community Case Management; Elder Abuse and Safe Streets; Jewish Community Council of Far Rockaway; JASA with Medicare Part D information; New York State EPIC program; Hunter Ambulance; New York City Fire Department; Visiting Nurse Service of New York; St. John’s Ambulatory Care at JASA; and St. John’s Community Mental Health Center.

Caption 2: Dermatologist James Briley, DO, examined Irene Goomishian’s skin for cancer through a powerful magnifying glass with a light attached to it during the Senior Fair. Approximately 50 people were screened for skin cancer that day.
