JULY 26, 2007 (Far Rockaway, NY) - - - St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is holding a blood drive on Thursday, August 2, 2007, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm in the Hospital Boardroom. The need to donate blood became more urgent following the New York Blood Center’s recent announcement that its blood supply has reached critical, emergency levels. St. John’s is located at 327 Beach 19th Street, Far Rockaway, NY 11691.

Donors must be at least age 16, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good health. People more than 75 years of age may continue to donate blood if they meet all donor criteria and present a physician’s letter allowing them to donate. Before donating, be sure to eat at your regular mealtimes and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating. Please bring photo identification.
