SUPPORT SERVICES
Rounding out the total care program at Bishop Charles
Waldo MacLean Episcopal Nursing Home is a full range
of professionals who help to ease the transition for
each resident. Trained social workers offer counseling
and teach outreach skills to residents who may feel
cut off from family and friends, helping them take
advantage of new social opportunities and activities.
They also provide assistance with Medicare and Medicaid
benefits and claims, HMO or other medical insurance
problems, legal and family problems, and planning for
future needs.
Residents' social life is facilitated
through a range of activities, including community
day trips, in-house musical and theater entertainment,
fashion shows, arts and crafts, table games, and recreational
contests. Friendships are made easy through birthday
celebrations, barbecues, seasonal parties and holiday
celebrations.
Above all, we believe that care-giving
takes time, along with patience and the ability to
listen. Only then do we truly know another person;
only then can we attend to his or her health needs.
Our staff is here to give that time to each and every
resident.
