IS Mission Statement

To service our full user population, however possible, in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner, thereby maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our users' individual and collective objectives for the betterment of patient care and overall facility operations.

IS Philosophy

Our philosophy is that every employee at EHS performs a vital, required function and deserves to have the power of information at their fingertips, as needed and authorized, to achieve their objectives. This philosophy aids us in the completion of our mission toward better patient care, which is our ultimate bottom line.

IS Organizational Structure

Our structure was designed to reflect the work environment of a high-end technology group. We are broken up into 7 major areas which are further subdivided. Those groups are listed below, with a short narrative on their function:

  • Site Support -- Those staff members skilled in PC Support and Application Support that provide on-site service about 90%-95% of the time. It should be noted that just about everyone in the department performs on-site service as needed.
  • Financial Systems & Programming -- This group handles Application Systems like IDX, Global, etc. from the perspective of End User handling and requirements.
  • Clinical & Administrative Systems -- Similar to the Financial Systems group above, but with a focus on systems like Sunquest, Surgiware, MIDAS, Web-based Applications, MS-Access Applications, etc.
  • Technical Services -- This group handles high-end technical jobs involving direct contact with the various computers and their associated Operating Systems. They also handle Data and Voice Communication.
  • Operations -- These team members actually run the computer room, handling console requirements, tape requirements, printed output, I/O Control, Data Entry, etc. They are on duty 24x7x365, and are supported by all other groups as needed any time (day or night).
  • LAN Administration & Engineering -- This group handles all of our Novell and Windows NT Servers, GroupWise, Anti-Virus System, Network Monitoring, etc.
  • PC Support, Security, Help Desk, Training, Purchasing, & Logistics -- This is a catch all group that picks up everything else. This is the most diversified group vis-a-vis functionality.
