About Episcopal Health Services Inc.

The story of Episcopal Health Services Inc. is one of selfless giving, compassion, and fortitude. In 1850, four Episcopalian women from Brooklyn made a commitment to take care of three elderly women in their homes. That small seed was nurtured and grew into the thriving and fruitful tree known as Episcopal Health Services (EHS).

Episcopal Health Services, formerly the Church Charity Foundation of Long Island, was founded in 1851 to provide for "the spiritual and temporal wants of destitute widows and orphans, aged poor and needy sick and every class of suffering children."

Today, more than a century and a half later, Episcopal Health Services still believes in that special responsibility of meeting the needs of everyone in its communities. Each site serves a cross-section of its service area, in Brooklyn, Queens, and Nassau.

As part of the Episcopal Health Services family, you can feel secure that you and your loved ones will be provided with around-the-clock care, without having to leave the
community you have grown to love.
