The Dermatology program began on July 1, 2001 and is coordinated by the Director of Medical Education and the Graduate Medical Education Committee. We have eight instructors that are assigned to teach in the clinic as well as in their private office.
Wednesday mornings are dedicated to didactic lectures, grand rounds and Journal Club. On Friday and Monday mornings, the residents are also trained extensively in dermatopathology and cosmetic and surgical dermatology.
St. John’s Episcopal Hospital entire dermatology staff is dedicated to the residency program for educational and clinical experiences with hands-on experience.
The training for an osteopathic dermatologist consists of concentrated study of skin, hair and nails. Emerging from this training, residents gain an understanding of how to approach and care for the largest organ of the body - the skin. Osteopathic dermatologists focus on how skin, hair and nails affect - and is affected by - one’s health.
John’s Episcopal Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.
