Compliance

Episcopal Health Services Inc. (EHS) has a long and proud history of rendering quality healthcare services and conducting business in full compliance with the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and in accordance with the highest ethical standards.


EHS and all of its affiliates take health care fraud and abuse very seriously. EHS is committed to following all applicable laws and regulations, in particular those that address health care fraud, waste, abuse, and disrupt the proper billing of Medicare, Medicaid and other government-funded health care programs. This includes the Federal False Claims Act and State law or other related enforcement policies.


The Board of Trustees has adopted a corporate compliance program to ensure that this commitment is upheld. The Code of Conduct translates that commitment into a written statement of standards of behavior for all employees, officers, and trustees/directors, Medical Staff members, agents and independent contractors who act on EHS's behalf.


Compliance Enforcement

Majority of our work focuses on compliance with the regulatory requirements and conditions of participation in government-funded insurance programs. In order for EHS to participate in these programs, we must comply with standards for, but not limited to: documentation standards for services provided, facility and practitioner licensing processes, as well as coding and billing standards related to payment for claims. Failure to comply with these regulations, conditions and standards may result in civil and criminal sanctions, monetary penalties and elimination from federally funded programs.


Reporting Violations

Employees and staff are required to come forward with any information regarding the actual or possible violations of the Code of Conduct and cooperate fully in the investigation of any violation.

Reports should be made in person, by telephone or in writing to any of the following:

  • The toll-free Compliance Hotline (877-789-0943) is available to all employees and staff to discuss concerns about possible violations of the law or EHS policy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may ask to remain anonymous when you call the Hotline if you wish.
